Vermont National Country Club
At
last, a course that celebrates the game of
golf as it was meant to be played. Introducing
Vermont National Country Club. A golf course
of unsurpassed beauty. A course of striking
variety and intriguing subtlety. A course
where Nature meets Nicklaus.
It
seems appropriate that Vermont National Country
Club is located on one of the highest sites
in South Burlington. After all, it is here
that the game of golf-and the golf experience-is
being raised to a higher level than has ever
been available in the region. In terms of
its course design, natural beauty, location,
and family-friendly atmosphere, Vermont National
Country Club defines the new standard in Chittenden
County.
The club's centerpiece is the Nicklaus/Nicklaus
II Signature Design championship course that
continues the legendary Nicklaus tradition
of accentuating and amplifying the beauty
of the existing natural terrain. The Nicklaus
team spent considerable time and effort analyzing
Vermont National's 400 acres to devise a course
that offers 18 distinct experiences. Throughout
the course, you'll be rewarded with spectacular
vistas of the towering Mansfield and Camel's
Hump, the ancient Adirondacks and panoramic
views of the glassy surface of Lake Champlain.
The Nicklaus design treats Vermont National
almost as if it were two courses. The front
nine of the 7,035-yard, par-72 championship
course is more gentle and rolling, with the
holes winding through green meadows and quiet
valleys. The ambiance, says Jack Nicklaus
II, is reminiscent of "an English or
Scottish links kind of feeling."
The back nine, on the other hand, offers a
more rugged atmosphere, with dramatic rock
outcroppings and ledges creating a craggy
backdrop to the stands of sugar maples, butternut
and ash trees. The view of Camel's Hump from
the 10th hole is one you'll tell your friends
about; and the 18th tee, 30 feet up on a ledge,
is a vantage point that affords a sweeping
view of the Adirondacks looming majestically
to the southwest.
Vermont National is first and foremost a course
designed for players who love the game, from
expert to novice. With five sets of tees,
the course ranges from 5,156 yards from the
front tees to a full 7,035 yards from the
back tees. Nicklaus has made certain that
experienced players will continually find
interesting challenges, yet the course is
designed to have the ultimate playability
for those still learning the game. The design
assures enjoyable play round after round,
while its craftsmanship reveals its intricacies
the more you play it.

Sugarbush Golf Club

The
golf course at the Sugarbush Golf Club is
a Robert Trent Jones Sr., masterpiece, described
by Golf Digest as "the essence of a mountain
course." Constructed in 1962, the course
with it's breath-taking scenery, twelve dog-legs,
numerous blind shots, uneven lies and demanding
greens create a unique challenge.

Blush Hill Country Club
Blush
Hill Country Club is a very scenic course
which has several views of the surrounding
mountains. Blush Hill's course was built
on hilly terrain so there will be a few
uneven lies. The fairways are narrow with
no trees to worry about. There's also no
water hazards, but there are sand bunkers
that come into play on every hole. The greens
are small, undulating and fast. The signature
hole is #4, a par 4, nicknamed the "Three
Radio Towers."
Directions
to Blush Hill Country Club ~ From Route
89 take Exit #10 to Route 100 going towards
Stowe for 500 yards then turn left onto
Blush Hill Rd and go to the top of the hill.
